Anita Louwerse's class is comprised of students who are playing Suzuki repertoire from mid-Book 3 to mid-Book 4, all of whom should be playing in the Junior Orchestra and some for the second year.

The pieces, beginning with Humoresque are more demanding technically and artistically, from the lovely sounds of Humoresque through the Baroque style in Bach’s Gavotte and Bourrée, and into the Seitz concerto movements which are designed to introduce students to some basic virtuosic techniques and more advanced musical expectations – contrasting sections, bowing skills, lyrical lines, chromatic passages, double stops, figuration at faster tempos, and phrasing all of which explore and extend what can be done mainly in the lower positions. Gradually more is done to expand the reading skills, perhaps with some basic music theory.
